FAQ
Top 10 questions and answers
Briefly about legality, setup, sales and analytics — no fluff
- 01
Why authorize guests at all? Can't we just leave Wi-Fi open?
No. The owner of a public internet access point must identify the user before granting access. This is required by the Kazakhstan Communication Services Rules; the wording in force since 12 July 2026 allows two methods — a one-time password sent by SMS to the guest's number, or sign-in through the eGov portal with a digital signature. TheLink.kz covers this with SMS authorization: every Wi-Fi session is tied to the guest's phone number and the connection log is retained
- 02
Do we have to pay separately for each SMS message sent to a guest?
SMS bundles are included in the plans, so message costs are predictable and do not grow with footfall. There are no hidden charges for confirming a number
- 03
Visitors complain that the Wi-Fi is "slow." How is that solved?
In the admin panel you can set a hard speed limit per device in one click, so heavy downloaders don't overload the shared network
- 04
Will I have to hire a programmer to set up the design or promos?
No — thanks to a simple visual builder you can update the logo, change the welcome text or launch a survey yourself in a couple of minutes without a single line of code
- 05
How exactly does guest Wi-Fi help me increase sales?
Right after authorization the system automatically redirects the guest to the page you want — for example, your interactive menu, Instagram profile or a hot promo banner
- 06
How legal is it to collect guests' contacts?
Before access is granted the guest accepts the terms and consents to data processing, and the session is tied to a confirmed number. That is exactly what the Communication Services Rules require of an access point owner
- 07
Will we have to buy expensive new routers?
In most cases there is no need to replace hardware, because our cloud platform integrates seamlessly with all popular business equipment (MikroTik, H3C, UniFi, etc.)
- 08
What analytics can I track in the dashboard?
You'll see, in real time, the number of visits, peak network load hours and, most importantly, the daily growth of your contact base
- 09
What happens if our provider's internet temporarily goes down?
Our system runs in the cloud, so as soon as your provider restores the connection the guest portal automatically resumes normal operation without staff involvement
- 10
Can I see which guests came for the first time and which are regulars?
Yes, the system automatically splits the audience into new and returning visitors, helping you accurately assess customer loyalty and guest retention
- 11
Do you work only in Almaty, or across Kazakhstan?
Across Kazakhstan. Connection and setup are done remotely, so the city does not matter: we connect cafes, hotels and shopping malls in Almaty, Astana, Shymkent and smaller towns alike. The requirement to identify a guest is the same nationwide and does not depend on the region, and the portal runs in the cloud, so no on-site visit is needed.
