Features for Hotel Business

Integration with PMS systems

Automatic synchronization with hotel software (Opera, Fidelio, HMS). The guest's room number and last name serve as their Wi-Fi login and password.

Voucher system

Generate and print temporary access slips (vouchers) at the reception with custom time or speed limits.

Multi-device control

Limit the number of devices (e.g. up to 3 devices per room) to prevent network congestion.

Meeting the requirements

Guest identification as required by the Kazakhstan Communication Services Rules. Sessions are logged and the log is exported on request during an inspection.

Compliance in Hotels

Hotels are public internet access points just like cafes and malls: access is granted only after the user is identified. The rules name a one-time SMS code and eGov sign-in with a digital signature for this. TheLink runs SMS authorization across every area of the hotel and keeps a session log per guest

Guest Wi-Fi in a hotel: what the property gets

For hotels and guesthouses, reliable Wi-Fi is one of the key factors influencing guest booking decisions. But unlike small cafes, hotel wireless networks face high density and complex layouts. TheLink offers a professional cloud solution designed specifically for hospitality businesses of any scale — from cozy guesthouses to large hotel complexes.

Integration with hotel PMS systems (Opera, Fidelio, HMS) automates the authorization process. Guests no longer need to wait for SMS codes — they simply enter their room number and the last name they registered with at check-in. For non-staying guests or conference attendees, receptionists can generate temporary access vouchers with custom speed and data limits in one click.

Legally, the hotel is responsible for how access is organised on its guest network. Without proper user identification the requirement of the Kazakhstan Communication Services Rules is not met. TheLink logs sessions automatically and ties devices to specific guests; the governing industry act remains the Law on Communications of 5 July 2004

Different areas of a hotel, different sign-in scenarios

In a hotel one network serves several quite different groups. A guest in a room stays for a week and should not have to enter a code every day. Someone in the lobby dropped in for twenty minutes over coffee. A conference attendee arrives for a single day as part of a hundred-person group. The hotel restaurant works like any street-facing food venue. A single sign-in method for all four cases is either inconvenient for the guest or leaves a gap in identification.

So sign-in is configured per area. In rooms, room number plus surname from the PMS is convenient: the guest does not wait for a code. But the communications rules name only an SMS code and eGov with a digital signature, so keep SMS sign-in switched on in every area and use the PMS link and vouchers as a fast extra option. For conferences the administrator prints a batch of vouchers with a shared validity period in advance. In every case the session lands in the same log, and the difference in sign-in method does not affect reporting.

If there is no PMS, or integration is not possible

Not every hotel runs Opera or HMS, and small properties often keep records in a spreadsheet. That is not an obstacle. Vouchers print at the front desk from the web interface, each with its own validity period, speed limit and device count. The administrator hands the slip over with the key at check-in — for staff it is no harder than reading out the network password, but the result is fundamentally different: the slip is tied to a specific guest and a specific time.

Speed and device limits are not a formality here. In a hundred-room hotel every guest brings a phone, a laptop and often a tablet or a streaming stick. Without limits, a few heavy downloads in the evening consume the uplink, and complaints about slow internet turn up in reviews on booking platforms — which is precisely the attribute hotels are compared on most often.

What gets asked during an inspection at a hotel

The questions are the same as for any point of public internet access: how the user is identified, where session data is stored and how far back it can be retrieved. The difference is that a hotel usually already holds the guest's details from the registration form, so tying them to a network session is technically easier than in a café. Responsibility rests with the owner of the access point, not with the provider that brought the line into the building.

Hotel FAQ

Which hotel PMS systems are supported?

We support the popular PMS systems (Opera, Fidelio, Logus, HMS, etc.). If you use a custom system, we can integrate it via API

Can we limit Internet speed for guests?

Yes, you can set individual speed and traffic limits per device, and configure VIP access at higher speeds for premium rooms

What if the hotel has poor mobile coverage for SMS?

In that case, the voucher system is the best choice — guests enter the code from their printed receipt and get connected instantly

Will we need to buy new expensive routers for the hotel?

In most cases you do not need to change equipment, as our platform seamlessly integrates with popular business hardware

What happens if our internet from the provider is temporarily disconnected?

The system works in the cloud, so after the connection is restored, the portal will automatically start without staff involvement

Request demo access

Optional — but it lets our manager call you with answers, not questions.
